Akshay Chhugani is a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in the start up scene from early 2007. His first start up venture 'The Indian Backpacker' turned out to be India's most trusted backpacking portal helping backpackers heading to India with valuable backpacking information and advice. With zero start up investment, Indian Backpacker became India's No 1 backpacking portal and went on to be acquired by Ixigo in 2015. Akshay currently heads product marketing at Ixigo and became an Angel Investor over time with his investments in various industries. His current portfolio consists of hotels under the brand Boho Hospitality, backpacker hostel Bunk Stay, co-working space 'Creators Gurukul', App based live cricket gaming 'Cricnwin' and few others. Akshay believes in investing in projects which mix traditional business setups with new technology and innovation. Akshay has been a panelist and speaker for many start up conferences and his entrepreneurial ventures have been applauded by the media. He is a keen backpacker and has trekked to a myriad of destinations in India and abroad from the Himalayas to the Great Wall! He has also been a consultant for a number of backpacking mixers, travel based events, festivals and trade shows
