Food Startups - Recipe for Success


Startup Saturday June focused on different challenges and the process followed by food startups to establish themselves. We had Gurmeet Kochhar (Founder - Spice Box, Co-founder - Oye Kiddan and The Bohri Kitchen), Rohan Mangalorkar (Owner - Pack-a-Pav) and Harshal Shroff (Founder - This Corn), who shared their insights and answered audience queries.  

Continuing the theme from June, Startup Saturday July will focus on menu development, the key aspects to consider with menu costing and pricing as well as establishing processes. We will also be discussing how a food startup creates it’s brand identity and markets itself. So we look forward to welcoming you on 9th July and having a great event.

NOTE: As per the venue guidelines, men in shorts/three-fourths and women in short dresses (above knee length) will not be allowed.




Participation fees of Rs. 200/- will be collected at the venue - (Seats will be provided on first come first serve basis) 


Bhakti Mehta

Bhakti is the founder of Little Food Co and Little Food Daily.

In 2010, ex-media professional Bhakti Mehta traded in her marketing manuals for a chef’s apron when she started The Little Food Co., and she’s never looked back!

A self-taught chef, Bhakti grew with her company, traveling the world and drawing inspiration from modern European, American and Asian cuisine, and constantly adding new recipes and ideas to the mix.

Food styling, working with restaurants on menu development, recipe testing, kitchen planning, training – If it’s about food, chances are Bhakti’s had a hand in it.

TBK is an experimental lunch concept where a maximum 14 friends (or friends of friends) are served a mouthwatering, home-cooked 6 course Bohri meal.

The success of this concept has now led to TBK being available to people across Mumbai via home delivery.

Munaf is responsible for Branding & Position, Marketing i.e. Social Media, PR, Partnerships, Profitability Analysis & Strategy.

Saurabh Saxena

Saurabh is the Founder & CEO of Holachef

Saurabh Saxena is an IIT Bombay alumnus. His first entrepreneurial venture, Aakar Knowledge Solutions, built educational products & services that reached out to 2000 schools in India and 10 countries abroad. The company was acquired by Mexus Solutions in 2008; within two years of its launch. He is a core member of Powai Lake Ventures, an angel investment group. 

He founded Holachef in May 2014 with the intent of materializing a long-standing dream of creating unprecedented value in the food consumption ecosystem. He leads the business, strategy, scalability and profitability of the company.
