All About Fund Raising

Having built a viable product/service and generating revenue, the next step for a startup is to scale up. This requires securing funding. 

With 4 editions of Headstart’s "How to Start a Startup" National series behind us, we turn our attention to another vital issue, that the team and the founders at multiple stages of their startup journey face - Raising Funds. 

To combat this and help our fellow entrepreneurs, the theme for the May edition of the 6-month long series is Raising Funds. This edition will see founders, and experts come in and talk about their experience of securing funds. The topics that will be covered are: is the startup investment ready, the sources from where investment can be procured, legal aspects to be considered while raising funds, the challenges startups face post raising funds, etc.

Akshit Gupta

Akshit is a Co-Founding member of IntelleGrow, India’s first venture debt fund, where he built and management largest portfolio in addition to building the organising.
Prior to IntelleGrow, Akshit has also worked with HDFC Bank for the Emerging Corporates Group, wherein he was responsible for asset portfolio of the Bank and built a quality portfolio over INR 1000 cr .
He has been a Mentor to IIM Ahmedabad Power of Ideas Program and is an Advisor to various incubators and accelerators including ScaleMinds.

Dharmil Sheth

Co-Founder, Pharmeasy

Dharmil Sheth is the co-founder of Pharmeasy, the leading medical and healthcare app in India that connects consumers with local pharmacies and diagnostic centres. At Pharmeasy, Dharmil particularly looks at the key areas of customer experience and also helms the operations and marketing divisions of the company.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering and a PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad, Dharmil has been associated with renowned companies such as MakeMyTrip in key leadership roles. Fulfilling his entrepreneurial passions with new and exciting ventures, prior to Pharmeasy, Dharmil founded 91 Streets, a shopping search platform and BoxPlay Sports, a world-class sports infrastructure set-up for teams and individuals to play soccer and cricket.
A keen contributor to society, Dharmil has also laid the foundation of and is President to Ekagrata Foundation, a Non-Government Organisation which works towards the welfare of underprivileged children. In his free time, he likes to teach these children and play a role in shaping up their future. A football fanatic, he also loves to spend his free time on his creation, BoxPlay pads to polish his skills in the game.
